Davor Ojkić, DVM, MSc, PhD

Dr. Ojkić received his DVM degree at the University of Zagreb in Croatia and first worked in swine practice after graduation. He subsequently obtained his Master of Science degree in molecular biology from Brock University in St Catherines, Ontario in 1998 and PhD in virology from the University of Guelph in Ontario in 2001. After completing his PhD studies, he has been working as a virologist at University of Guelph Animal Health Laboratory where he heads a high-throughput veterinary virology diagnostic laboratory.
Dr Ojkić has re-organized testing routines for molecular and immunological tests and developed and introduced over 100 tests for detection and characterization of viruses of veterinary importance. He has provided advice to veterinary practitioners, industry representatives and government agencies, has published 108 peer-reviewed manuscripts, 121 practical publications and has given 79 invited lectures and presentations at meetings and conferences.
